A Love Letter to My Snooze Button

I love sleeping. Like a 5 minute nap after school- That happily turns into an hour And suddenly it's dark outside. Snooze, yes, you. You understand that- “I just need a little longer.” 9 more minutes? Yes please! You don't judge, Or yell to tell me to get up. You offer a sweet delay, Like it is wrapped in a sugar coating. Each morning, we dance, As if in delight, Me asking “5 more minutes?” Answering “yes,” without a fight. You’re my bad influence, Partner in crime. The happy sleep-ins, And the running late routines. Forever yours, Just let me be- Even if I’m late, It's you and me (and my pillow, happily).
