A Reader's Heart

Reading becomes so real, the world you were once reading about now consumes you. It's as if you are one of the characters, as if you have a new life. You become this new version of yourself. It's a paradox of identity. You find joy in this person you've created, this life you live when you indulge. But, what happens when all the pages have been turned? When the story has come to an end, what comes of your character? What comes of that life? Does it end when the words do, or does it live on as a part of you? Does it somehow become apart of the real you, the one you are every day? I think we carry with us a piece of every story we indulge in. We start to take parts of the good we see and place it somewhere deep inside. It may be that it is too deep for us to find. But its always hiding in a reader's heart.

ImAPoet?
Omg, why is this so relatable? The physical pain after I finish a book, I really enjoy reading and drowning myself into others' stories so I can get out of my own. At least with books I know most have a happy ending.
