Abandon

I can talk to you, but the only person listening is in the next room.

I can cry and complain how you're not here, but you can't hear me.

You left.

Do you not understand what you mean to me?

I know it wasn't your choice. I saw the pain etched into your face as you slowly slipped out of reality.

I saw the way your chest rose and deflated as the doctors whispered the diagnosis to me.

Stolen glances. Stolen time.

Running clock. Running thoughts.

If only you saw how I dropped at the news.

If only you saw how I explained it to close people.

If only you knew how much it killed me when you left.

If only you knew how I still die inside when I see your picture. If only you knew.
