The Abandoned Playground

Laughter ringing in the air

As children run around without a care

Swinging on the monkey bars

Playing pretend under the stars

Swinging through the night sky

Not wanting to say goodbye

Now the swings sit still

Memories of the past linger with a chill

Long abandoned is this playground

The wind whistles a nostalgic sound

Of the laughter that would ring in the air

As children ran around without a care
