The Abarat.
Touching grass as soft as silk.
The heat of the sun touching my ears,
Enveloping me with its warmth.
Feeling nothing but peace.
I don't want to know if its real or not.
Feeling freedom in this trapped abyss.
An Abarat to call my own.
Can this place be true?
Is it as true as my mind makes it?
I don't want to lose this place.
I want to keep this place close to my heart.
I feel the grass.
I feel the sun.
I feel the wind brush past me.
I want to keep this place.
I don't want to leave.
Please let me live here.
I don't want to leave my Abarat.
This newborn place has surfaced in my mind.
Please let me keep this feeling.
I want to feel happy and calm like this always.
Nothing but peace.
No thoughts to think.
Why do I feel so alive in this abyss of entrapment?
How can I feel so free in this containment?
I know its containment.
Why don't I want to leave?
Why do I want to stay in this Abarat?
I know where the danger is lurking.
It grows near.
Yet, I don't want to move from my place.
I want to feel the danger that moves dangerously closer with every breath it takes.
It reaches for me, and caresses me lightly.
I gasp.
I open my eyes.
The Abarat is no longer here.
Just the danger and nothing else.
