On the Ability of Poetry to Make a Difference

Words cannot change the world

And it will never be true that

We can make a difference just by writing

The written word

Is not able to replace

Advancing technology in our society

No one cares about poetry

And it is not possible that

I am writing to change lives

The poems that I write will never reach anyone

Because there is no way that

I will keep writing throughout my life

I don't care about what I write

As there aren't any cases in which

I can express myself through my writing

Times are changing

And it does not matter that

I am a poet

Poetry is dead

Even though some falsely insist that

Poets will always have power

I want to be famous one day

But not because

I write poetry
