About Colder Nights

The eyelid opens and the abrasive sharpens, Your dizzysick mind unfurls under a heart,   The bareness and the lucidity catch up along   The winding path of your own inhibition.  Skeletal trees and soggy mauve grass reflect   In a murky lens of soft hazel ellipsis.  All around you feel the swirling wind And no thing of earth can touch your frame.  And all at once the catharsis arrives,   Like some lost dream of long ago. Here it is, here we are, all right now, The time is fading in faster beats. I watch you cast shadows and feel lights And you wonder on about colder nights.
