About to Give Up

A famous poet once penned,

Where's that perfect music coming from?

But when I try to do the same

I don't know... it's just not my thing

Mistakes, messes, cried-out nights

Trying to get it just right

Kicked out of heaven

Feel like giving up again

Throw my wings away

Leave them for another day

Another girl, another star

Maybe they deserve to go farther

Than I have ever come.

I watch the sunset by myself

Bright orange rays lighting up the west

A road of fractured glass

Stretches out into the distance

Endless yet nonexistent-

Where should I take my next step?
