To those who read poems in your spare time:

Let me introduce myself.
I'm strong hearted but soft-spoken
Incredibly empathetic but often distant to close friends
I enjoy time alone in my room and out dancing with others equally
I'm scared of strangers but the most willing to be spontaneous
Patient and understanding yet prone to outbursts.
In short, I'm made up of contradictions.

And so is the college process.

I want to go to college but I'm scared of the cost
Close to home, or out of state?
Liberal arts or STEM?
Make my parents proud, or take the major that calls out my name?

It's the year that you've been waiting for!
Submit those test scores, and hope for the best!
Apply to those dream colleges!
Find the right fit for you!

In a trying world, there are trying times. I guess this is one of mine.
In a household of first-generation immigrants, this money will help me shine.
