Above the Noise

I told you, you hold my heart in your hands.

That’s something you could never understand.

I told you, love is fragile, like a gentle rose.

How to take care of it, only God knows.

Always hold tightest when it’s difficult,

Never assume about the end result.

I took each step with gratitude and grace,

But your side was never my place.

You had a warm smile, a gentle voice.

I stopped paying attention to the noise.

I was lied to, I was deceived.

Never knew I could be so naive.

How could you look me in the eye,

Knowing you’ve got my hands tied.

How could you swear loyalty,

When you had no honesty.

I regret melting in your arms,

Leaning on you when it got hard.

I trusted you with all I had,

All this time you had a knife in your hand.

Now I’m left sewing my own wounds,

Feeling that I fell too soon.

Now I’m left wondering where love has gone,

But I know I will carry on.

I don’t have much to hold onto,

But I know what I’m meant to do.

I will rise above and transform the noise,

It will turn to music and soon rejoice.
