Above the Sky

I bet there’s someone above the sky

Who has days

When their frame blisters their heartbeat.

If you watch this world at all,

You’ll see there’s too many people

Cutting around the corners of this life

And even more that

Don’t have an edge at all.

But there is a reason

That someone has no burnt this world down

Like toast,

And covered it in butter.

There is a spark on a street corner tonight

Who looks up to the stars

To learn how to spiral skywards and

Even has a I was

Hung from the birch trees

With my desperation

They lined a meadow that says-

“Someone knows freedom.”
