Above the Surface, Within the heart

She stares in the mirror thinking: "Why doesn't he like me?".

"Am I unnoticeable; does he think that I'm ugly?".

"Are my boobs too big? Is my butt too fat?".

What does he like? She wants to be that!

She wants to be pretty; she wants him to see her.

She wants him to want her and to want to be near her.

What she doesn't see however, most regrettably so,

Is that he's shallow & superficial, and his attitude is ice cold.

He's vindictive and cruel with his words,

a few nights alone with him and she'll discover his worst.

She is beautiful, adorable, lovely, and sweet;

Full of loyalty and compassion, and a sister in need.

She deserves the best, no less than will do;

She has worth on her own, even without him, it's true.
