Absence

You will never know true pain ´til you are

left with no one to watch graduation

or to visit your dance practice, even

to wish you a happy birthday and sing

you a bedtime song. Our parents did not

want to keep us any more and I just

wish we had some body to love us but

We have made it on our own and no one

can take that from us. I'm my own person,

not to be messed with and we are stronger

than I ever thought we could be. This is

our one and our only recognition.

Some one told me I am a big mistake

I proved them wrong with one step down the right

path. We are on our way to great success.

We did not need either of our parents
to tell us which way to go to catch the

school bus and we did not need them to give

advice about what to do when our first

boyfriend broke our fragile heart but I know

our lives would have been different if they were

present. Sometimes I wish they were here now.

Daily, feelings pass and we are again

strongly taking care of our own dear hearts
