The Absence of Time

Tick tock tick tock

Goes the hand on the clock,

Tick tock tick tock

Will the clock ever stop?

Watching, waiting, wishing,

That’s all I seem to do,

Watching, waiting, wishing,

For that hand to stop at two.

What would happen if the clock did stop

With that little hand at two,

Would the day continue to pass by

As if the world thought nothing new?

I know what I would do

If I saw that hand stop at two,

I would run out into an empty field

Simply enjoy the afternoon view.

I would take a deep breath

Maybe count to ten,

Allowing my heart to slow down

Being at peace once again.

Being wrapped up in thought

How can I ever leave,

But wait I don’t have to

I have no place to be.

Too bad this bliss is just a dream

Reality makes it unreachable,

Everyday is like a whirlwind

A spin that leaves me unspeakable.

Tick tock tick tock

Goes the hand on the clock,

Tick tock tick tock

Time will never stop.
