The Absence of You

The Absence of You

As I sit here in

your home with nothing to do.

I think about the good times

in my life that I often had with you.

Now that you are gone,

I still can’t let you go.

For we had more love between us

Than any one would ever know.

I often wonder if you are watching

over me as time passes by.

Just once more, I wish that I could

be with you to say goodbye.

It hurts to think about

never hearing your voice again.

But I will remember what I was taught,

dear mother, I did listen.

As I go about my life

doing the best the I can do.

I will always have that absence of you.
