Absent

Dear Love,

The fairytales and happy endings blinded me,

Creating a rose-colored filter that covered

My eyes and perception so that I could see

Only the good, but close reality hovered.

Things broke apart within and outside,

Shattering the lens that colored the world.

Life stood by, waiting for the time to provide

A shock of reality that it hurled.

Now I stand here reaching for the feeling I'm void of.
