Absent Lines

I trace the absent lines Of the curves that are missing Missing on my bed I often think at times Of listing Listing everything inside my head Of what to tell you As I trace And what to keep out As I erase But I keep on till I find your lips And they whisper to me in a sweet kiss In a warm embrace With a bright sunshined face That everything will be okay Because you still love me And you still love me that way. And you aren't gone Only waiting Simply turned round Just debating Whether to give me that smile Or wait a while Because you like it when I touch you And pretend you are not there Teasing me in my despair... Fingers groping lines But tenderly over, with just care My lip begins to pout And then you do it You turn round "Tell me you love me dear?" "but you already know that" "yea, I just need to hear" "I love you, I love you...olive you!" And you crinkle you nose Pieces of your body exposed As you play silly And eskimo me Making cheeks rosy Till you hug me tighter. Then the absent lines are filled And the love taxers billed By the minutes Hours Seconds And more that we've fulfilled I hope that you kiss me After your silly display But instead you hold me I find comfort this way Uneasily It tugs at me, and pushes But then I know This is true happiness And I fall asleep... uncomfortably comforted Because I know that to love is to be brave And not unfortunately I love you too In this way That's why I trace the absent lines Of your curves And of your smile And of your crinkly nose When you are not there Because Heaven knows I know those lines And I wish to know every hair And when they are gone I don't want to forget... So even if you're turned over In your restless sleep Please tell me that you're mine to keep Because I don't want to trace the wall. I don't want a life without you in it I don't want that Not at all..... I want the crinkle in your nose Even if you come with thorns Because you're prettier than a rose And after the silly play we do We make love till the sun comes up And he greets us two.
