Abstract Lying

Once upon a whatever,

That shit doesn't happen, never.

Heroes and heroines make gods of toys

They save the damsels, save the girls, save the boys.

They save their country, world or race.

They save the day with solemn grace.

Their stories save us, in a way,

Save for when the heroes go away.

Happily ever after, and so the story ends.

That's not how it goes.

The story of man never ends.

We die, but man doesn't end.

The stories don't end.

The hero doesn't end.

The villain doesn't end.

Stories are written, revised and rewritten.

Heroes rise and fall, rise and fall.

Villains rise and fall, rise and fall.

There is no black and white.

There is no rhyme or reason.

There is no theme.

There is no end.

The glory of stories is that they end,

but time is an unsavable damsel,

and we need escape.
