The Absurd

Doing this repeatedly

Pushing it up for all eternity

A punishment so cruel for anybody

A futile task

Pushing up a boulder up a mountain

Suffering so much pain

A punishment so severe

There is no escape

Working so hard every day

Hustling to get through the day

Come home after a hard day

Only to do it the next day

Why am I working so hard and suffering so much?

Why am I going through all this fuss?

What’s the point of getting up?

Where is my work going to bring me up?

When I reach the top of the mountain

I end up where I started

This suffering is meaningless

Maybe my work is meaningless

Can I give my work some meaning?

I this an absurd thinking?

How can I get out of this cycle?

Free myself of this cycle?

I can give my work some meaning.

Even though it’s not what I am seeing

The absurd is what I believe

To get to the top, is what I believe in.

Even though it might mean nothing.
