It’s a punch or slap and sometimes a kick Most nights he makes it quick You try to stay out of trouble But sometimes that makes things worse and you get beat double He tells you he loves you time after time He really is the lowest form of grime Yet you always take him back It’s really sad how much strength you lack It’s like you want to be hurt; like you’re asking for it You just sit there and take it not saying quit It hurts me to see the bruises and pain Really what sick satisfaction does he gain He hurts an innocent girl without a care This kind of evil is horrible and rare He’s going to kill you if you don’t fight Why can’t you see this relationship is not right One day you’re going to be six feet under I’ll be standing at your grave in the rain and thunder Don’t you see he’s not just hurting you Having to watch it hurts me too
