Abuse
His past haunted him.
The trauma of a father
Abusing a son.
My mother found out
Of the pains of her baby
And fought for his life.
After many years,
Our family was at peace.
He was protected,
But he was broken.
He had no one to turn to.
He was lost, alone.
It started in youth..
He was barely sixteen years.
The pain was too much.
He looked for outlets
To stifle his internal
Despair. It began.
Now he was caught in
The struggle of addiction,
A downward spiral.
His path had no end
In sight, and my parents feared
For their son's future.
His addiction led
Him through many hospitals
And almost killed him.
We visited him
At rehabs he frequented
Throughout my childhood.
My oldest brother,
My role model, was now weak.
He had no control.
Once the abused, he
Became the abuser. His
Actions hurt us all.
