Abused
My sister thinks she's ugly,
Cause she's been abused.
The first seven years of her life,
Spent in nine different foster homes.
The people who took her
Abused her and used her.
Sometimes, I think I hate them
Even though God tells me to love.
Cause I see the pain in her eyes
And I wish there was none.
When I first saw her,
She didn't know love.
She asked us one day,
"When are you sending me away?"
A year and a half later,
She was my little sister.
My beautiful sister
My best friend.
But she still thinks she's ugly.
The scars run too deep,
No matter what we say
No matter what we do.
And I'm scared.
So scared,
Cause what if one day I lose her?
How could I live?
Doesn't she know she's beautiful?
Her abuse doesn't define her.
Look in my eyes and see.
I'd die for her,
But sometimes she thinks even I don't love her.
I'm not enough, I don't know.
I don't know how to help her
I don't know how to beat the abuse.
My beautiful sister.
Too hurt by the world.
Don't listen to the abuse.
You're more than that.
Please.
