The Abused
No child deserves,
What the irresponsible dishes out.
The pain, the crying,
The crushing self doubt.
When the blows are delivered,
Some marks are left.
But what is taken,
Will forever be set.
A child is precious,
Not a toy for an adult.
So why is anger,
Used as a catapult?
To launch the stones,
And shatter the façade,
Of a child’s innocence,
Forever lost and gone.
Let the strong end the cycle,
Of what the weak use as defense.
Let’s end child abuse today,
Wash our hands clean,
BE DONE WITH THE NONSENSE.
