An Abused Mind

An Abused Mind

By Kenyari Oshinque

As a child, you have no say

As an adult you have no willful mind

Why is that?

As a child, we are marked by what our guardians say

If you don’t agree, they WILL make you agree

That is messed up

When all is said and done, you’re told “I don’t like to hit you; it hurts me to hurt you. I love you, that’s way I hit you.”

That’s messed up

Makes you think its ok

Makes you wonder if this is normal.

Makes you wonder if its love

You fall head first into a hole that fucked up in everyone’s (but yours) eyes

Everyone has an interior motive

No matter if it’s good or bad

Meet someone you can trust

Or can you honestly think that?

The only person who can change your mind

Your heart

Is you

Yeah, it’s easily said than done

Only you know if you have

An abused mind
