"The Abyss That Comes After Love"

I close my eyes and push the darkness down

Down, down, down to the abyss of my soul

(Thinking of you only causes me to drown)

You think you’re as pure as a crystal crown

Now I can see you are as dark as coal

I close my eyes and push the darkness down

I can’t help but smile when you come around

You cause me to lose all my self-control

(Thinking of you only causes me to drown)

Every night with you was like a showdown

Oh how our love took a terrible toll

I close my eyes and push the darkness down

On cloud nine I’m not ready to comedown

Your touch and affection make me feel whole

(Thinking of you only causes me to drown)

You’re responsible for all my breakdowns

Saying goodbye is out of my control

I close my eyes and push the darkness down

(Thinking of you only causes me to drown)
