An Abyss in My Mind

There're times in our lives,

whene we go down the memory lane

and discover a new road, which comes to light

it might give you pain, drive you insane,

choke you, push you, force you to fight,

and you no longer recognize, what's wrong or right

and then you wake up, with a jolt, just to realize

it was a souvenir of a forgotten fear,

tears, unintentionally roll down your eyes,

well, this happens with me nearly evry time

I try to sleep, so I refrain

to lie down, abandon my worries away,

but slowly I start to disdain myself,

choke myself, push me to fight myself,

in my darkest moments, I dwell,

in my most dreaded endeavers, I delve

and find a monster, waiting for me,

what's real, what's imaginary, I can't tell!

and the only way I'll be liberated from this evel spell is...

and with a jolt, I wake up again.
