Acceptance

She sits in class

Never saying a word

Kids stare, teachers question

But no one asks

Assumptions are made

And she is labeled

She finds herself alone

Not knowing what to do

She is broken

And faced with choices

Where does she turn

And to whom does she confide in

She is out casted

There is no connection

She sits watching the clock

Waiting for the last bell

She listens to the teacher lecture

But does not retain a word

Instead she dreams

That the future will change

Acceptance will be universal

Rejection will not exist

And no one will have to suffer

Like she has suffered

But until then she sits in class

Never saying a word

Kids stare, teachers question

But no one asks
