Acceptance

Why do we have no trouble accepting a disability we can physically see?

There are many other disabilities not in plain sight to you and me

When you notice someone who may act different do not immediately judge !

They may be suffering from a mental health issue that is not easy to budge !

On top of their disability they have to deal with stigma and stares

From all those around them who in ignorance treat them unfair

I hope as a nation we can become more educated about this disease

Not adding to their stress by rejecting them, but instead putting them at ease

Understanding  that this is  also  a disability like any other

This poem I dedicate to my  "Special " Brother .
