Accidents Happen

I was 3 when my life was flipped upside down
I never got to sleepover at a friends house or
Ride a bike or been ask to dance
Never got to chase my brother or play like a normal kid
I never got to truly understand why this happened to me, and I never will
Accidents happen...
Only mine, no one was at fault
Two cars just accidentally collided and sent my world into a sudden change
I'm 16 now, and I will never know what it's like to play sports or have a first dance
Never know what it's like to feel pretty in a dress or not have to feel ashamed of who I am
I know all this wasn't on purpose, and I'm just lucky enough to be alive..
But sometimes I look in the mirror and see a chair that doesn't belong to me and ask myself
Why do accidents happen ??
