Aces
Hard for a rant to be a poem
or the thoughts to not be scrambled
All the girls you love,
you young soul, are
dancing nakedly
drunk and high
While you’re stooped
behind a screen
It’s ok
The air’s foul
but you have hemoglobin
to stop the foulness
entering your heart
Leave the self-pity
on the doorstep
Make your room dark,
the car lights outside
will glimmer inside,
like the fire illuminating
Plato’s cave
If you are the man who
draws Aces;
Congratulations
For the ones that draw the
lower cards;
enjoy your
lonely head
There you can see the
brightest stars
and revel in the
absurdity
