Achieve-less

Proverbs 29:11 

¹¹ A fool vents all his feelings,
But a wise man holds them back.

Achieve-less

What is success … and in whose eyes?

Is it an emotion … a fulfillment of pride?

May be a craving for recognition?

Who knows best … in choosing what’s right?

A form of devotion … a longing for might?

May be flesh’s reminiscing?

What is satisfaction … in what perspective?

Is it a hunger … a form of appetite?

May be feeds on the inner-being?

Is it a distraction … from living effective?

Traveling on … on just compromise

May be so seldom disagreeing?

Where is Godliness found … on flesh’s pathway?

Is it following ruts of them … that went before?

May be blinders on the eyes?

Hand in hand with loneliness … hidden along the way

To get pushed astray … through blisters and sores

May be from true insight?

Circling through life … to escape from the past

Always winding up somehow … close to where you started

May be in the familiar?

Strangled by inner strife … that closes in too fast

Contradictions line up … in thoughts to be discarded

May be in the now and the prior?
