Acid Tears

It wasn’t the shadows, the thunder and rain

It wasn’t the darkness that at night always came

For she welcomed them all to come into her life

Because anything was better than her life full of strife

Kindness was leaving; being replaced by dark, not day

Her mind would keep on wandering, and thoughts became astray

No one knew the truth, for it lay hidden in the walls

Where deep down she knew, this was where all evil crawls

Dripping down her face, were tears like acid, true

Falling without hope, for the future and the new

Alone was what she was, at the edge and ready to fall

But her gone would make no difference, for it wasn’t one at all
