Can we go back to before I saw that sparkle in your eye?
To before your mere existence made me cry.

Before your rejection made me feel like I wanted to die inside.
Back to before I ever declared you mine.
Before my sleepless nights.
Before the torture, and internal fights.
Before I envied the happiness you felt without me.
Before the pain in my eyes you dared not to see.

Can we go back to when we first met,
And give being friends another chance?
