Acrimony of Love

I held on to it like a thorny rose

Pitifully taking in the bait of its beauty,

While its thorns shout out

And pierced through my heart,

Sending my life into fits of bloody

Tears

I want to believe in its sweet lies,

It’s much more relaxing this way

But they say that an overdose on heaven

Is a sin

Enough to put me in this state of comatose

I hate it, I love it

But I can’t stay away from it

It’s the oxygen I need

To stay sane

Without it I’m just another bull

Stupidly ramming my head into anything

However, no matter how much pain I receive

I’m attracted to its little game

Of life or death

Yet, I feel like it’s winning,

Taking my life,

And I’m taking it’s Death

Because of it,

The trapped room of darkness

It once inhabited,

Drained of life,

I now replaced the empty corner.

Curled up in a ball

Of pitifulness.

Is it happy?

Or sad?

I can’t even tell.

Its eyes,

Full of malice,

Yet sadness

The twisted curve of its mouth

Yet the soothing words it sprouts to my ears,

As it looked down at me

With a pitiful look

Taunting me,

(Or advising me?)

For the problem it tangled me up in.

Yet is it smiling because it knows

That I sold my soul

To something that I created?

It not fair

How it’s the one who’s

Dominating

When I created it!

So why am I so attached?

Why can’t I leave it?!

When it easily can.

Why am I bound to it

As if my life is on the line?

When my life is on the line

Because it put me out on the line!

Sometimes

I wonder,

Will I ever break free

Of this thick glass capsule

It holds me in?

If then, can I ever

Break the chains

That I,

Myself,

Helped wrap around?
