Across the Daydream of Love

Lay me down on a bed of roses

Where the fair winds of spring blow by

The sky is yellow and the air is light

On that second, the world was mine

Then the thorns went right through me

I bled onto the earth below

It soaked across your fingers

And you painted my blood with home

The sky darkened and the clouds rolled

I stood alone

You fled and fought the night on your own

And I'm still standing all alone

A hundred years passed by

Since we saw each other last

But the time never seemed to fly

Because I'm still stuck in the past

The curls of the light still tug me backwards

It is a cord I cannot break

It twists and turns and holds my body

So hard I grew afraid
