Across the world...
Children: across the classroom, shared glances, and passes on the playground.
Our awkward middle school years:
Walking to classes, remembering a familiar face,
catching you in the sea of people.
Our Senior year of highschool:
We find eachother, across the classroom once more.
Smiles exchange all year, and on our prom night we find eachother...
once more. The warm bulb blooms into a relationship.
Now, Across the country:
You train and fight for a world in constant turmoil,
as I stand at the mailbox, wondering," How did I become so lucky?"
I kiss the envelope goodbye.
Across the country, I wait,
For a neatly sealed envelope, with the words "Semper fi."
