Acting

Hiding beneath the mask,

of a persona that is not your own,

seeking shelter amidst their hopes and dreams.

Slipping their personality on

and handing over the reigns.

Following a vast parade,

of memorized conflicts,

choreographed heartbreaks,

and a foreshadowed ending.

Whether warm sunny attitude,

or an icy disposition,

a naive but well-meaning youth,

or a steady senior, creased with wisdom.

Whatever the mood,

whatever the pace,

mind and body join hands,

to become another.
