Action Figure

“There’s nothing wrong with her...”

“It’s just her being dramatic...”

“She’s just looking for pity…”

I hate  conversations like this one.

They make me want to disappear

Or,

Turn into an Action Figure.

All perfect,

Each one made carefully

To be just right for

Who ever chooses to love it

“Just because you can’t see it, doesn’t mean it’s not there.”

        Some will defend,

        But there is always a response,

“ If it isn’t visible it  can’t affect her that much.”

Why are people so naïve?

Why can’t people see the effects?

Invisible disabilities can take a greater toll

Which makes people worse.

They are more likely to be judged

With their limitations and habits.

People think we are

Lazy. Weird. Freaks…

We  think we aren’t

But when you hear something enough times

It becomes true.

So we wish we were action figures .

Perfect molds of what we wish

We could be.

What we should be.
