Acts of War

Their eyes are hollow

They've seen too much

Know not enough

And not eaten in days

They have babies to feed

Little boys at war

Girls hiding their womanhood

and seemingly no escape

The camera captures all

The barren surroundings

The hopelessness and fear

in those eyes

As the mother realizes that nothing she ever does

can change her plight.
