ADDICTED TO LAZINESS

I've entered this poem along with 3 others into the Richmond Writes poetry contest earlier this year. The mayor of Richmond, Ca presented me with 2nd place so I am very honored and proud of my poem.

ADDICTED TO LAZINESS
I wish I were not so lazy.
The work rarely gets done and it's never fun.
I am so lazy it's actually crazy.
Procrastination,
Is my good old friend.
It's like an addiction that I cant let go,
Constantly giving in to the lethargy within.
Laziness is a sense of numbness.
I bury myself in cushions on the couch.
Never ever wanting to come out.
If I weren't so lazy
My days would be smooth sailing
