Addiction

One fish, two fish,
red fish, blue fish
If only the learning process was as simple as it used to be
Then people would see what addiction took from me.

Black and white mixed together is grey
Should I kill myself?
If only I could make a judgement call
Then people would see what addiction took from me.

I lost my family, my children, myself
Pushed those who I love away
Tried to protect them by harming myself
If only they listen
Then people would see what addiction took from me.

I prayed as I shot myself some more
I hoped it would make me stronger
Deep into the darkness
If only I knew
Then people would see what addiction took from me.

I cannot sleep in peace
Everything is a reminder of my death
I know my time is shorter
Yet I do not drop the bottle
If only God would pray for me
Then people would see what addiction took from me
Then people would see what addiction took from me.
