addressing current day racism

I could never understand

what it's like

to be black in the us

I could never understand

what it's like

to fear for my life

if I see sirens in my review mirror

I could never understand

what it's like

to have my culture ripped from me completly

I could never understand

what its like

to know

that my grandfather wasn't seen as a human

when he was just a child

I could never understand

what its like

to know that I won't be accepted into my dream college

because of my skin color

I could never understand

what its like

to not get the job

because a white guy with the same everything

got it instead.

I could never understand

what its like

to be stereotyped

as poor and in poverty

because of my skin color

I could never know

what its like

to have to deal with

all of the people who hate me

because of my skin color

I could never know what its like

because I am white

I can try to understand

but I will never in my life

be able to feel the pain

of a person of color

and for that I am sorry

(let me know if I missed anything)
