Adieu
Sometimes it's hard
Thinking about our past
I want to write you letters
But you'd probably take a sideways glance
I went off to school
And you to do your part
Serving for our country
Now the Marines have your heart
We went through a lot
That year and some
And I regret what happened everyday
We really were dumb
It could have been happy
I could have reacted better
You just wanted me in your life
And all I could think about was her
You did treat her badly
I only had one rule
You treat my friends like shit
I'll treat you like a fool
But you didn't have to go
And make it so much worse
She'd never had someone
She'd never experienced your curse
She just wanted to experience love
And she thought you'd be her giver
But you just wanted to use her position
To make me shake and shiver
She really was one of my closest
And you broke the rule again
I had given you many chances
And I couldn't hide my pain
I talked and talked and talked
To try and escape my guilt
But it only brought me closer
To the drama that I built
I was definitely not innocent
In our "big" falling out
But you were no saint either
Not even by a little amount
You never got very far with me
And you took it way past "ok"
Especially when you used it
To have your own field-day
You broke her heart and crushed her soul
Multiple times might I add
But by then I was done with you both
For you, I was ironclad
Maybe that's why you did it to me
To make me understand
Because I had done the exact same thing
You played me against my very own hand
That kid had loved me for many years
And suddenly you came along
You were charming, sweet, polite
I had no sense of right or wrong
But that's all over now
The three of us are separated
I don't think we'll ever get back
To the place where our story dated
I hope that life for you is well
And that you treat your new girl right
Because even the shitties of ex girlfriends,
Can miss you with all her might
