An Admiration of Praise
Daughter of many, sister to most, first generation with mixed traditions,
at the Speed of light I Cope with the Land of spirits past
Daughter of Marva, and forever Charlie's little girl, only one with brother Jamie.
Feet as coarse as the soft sand of the beach, as rough as the rocks in the desert, they carry me to the voices of the wind
Where I speak in song while dancing with the colors of the wind carrying, lifting the voices of my life I listen;
I think: my mind as open as the sky, as vast as the ocean with secret mountainous depths found within the abyss of its heart,
A heart as deep as the Grand Canyon crafted by the wind, I am the spirit of those before me.
I am curious as a house cat with the loyalty of a dog,
I am stealthy as I stalk my prey, a leopard waiting to pounce and run like a cheetah,
I fly like a crane as light as paper in hope that some day people will accept me like they do the panda,
A hybrid of colors of mixed descents decadently decided through the determination to be myself.
I teach what I learn, sharing the knowledge of those before me
I lean on others shoulders but always keep one open for others
Always doubting what I do, I collect my dreams in Charlotte’s Web
To tell the tales of my memories within stories, each a tree of its own
Waiting to be climbed and named a tree of life, a work of art
Created with the craft of words and colors wanting to help heal and inspire.
