Adopting a New Land

When I moved from Ukraine

there was a lot of pain

New faces

New places

I didn't know what to think

let alone, let it sink

America, the home of my dreams

You've wiped so many of my tears

The world is rough without opprotunities

But not when I have entered into your community

America gave me hope

When I was going down a slope

A slope of pain and sorrow

With no joys for tommorow

Oh America, how great you are!

You have definately exceeded my dreams by far!

You are not perfect

But oh, so worth it

America, you're the best!

Thank you so much for adopting your guest!

Now I had to adopt a new land

And by far, you really are grand

No one should take you fro granite

for you really are an amazing planet

So a thousand times, thank you

May you catch the words I blew

This poem is about:
Me
My country

Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to think about our country again. I have enjoyed thinking about America and how it really is amazing even though so many people have problems with it. I was adopted from Ukraine at the age of 10, and I will never forget about how greatful I am in such a country as Ameica.
