Adulthood

Dreamt about toys and games

Every problem simple, same

Frolicked in my world of fun

Played outside in bright noon sun

Sping then turned to summer, fall

Winter passed again and again

Before I knew it I'd grown tall

Fought against homework with strain

As I sat staring at the screen at night

Applying to schools of my choice,

I realized that I had grown up

And had to learn to stand on my own

With my own voice.
