Adulting

From one shove it all began.

A chirp emerged

From the depths of the silent chick’s beak.

Tumultuously falling without awareness,

Ever racing, ever speeding

Towards its liberation.

You wish to freeze time,

Yearning to preserve it all,

Yet the world is ruthless and continues on.

Those who were once children have grown.

The hours on end. The days without rest.

You have tumbled head first

Into this thing called adulting,

Landing on you arse and your head

Once more and again the cycle continues on.

Fear no more the responsibilities.

Now do it some more

With all your capabilities.
