Adults

Every puddle I passed was a chance to jump and splash

Now just a minor inconvenience of wet socks

As time passes we become sad

We forgot all of the small things that made us so happy

Like balloons and pennies left laying on the sidewalk

Growing up is about realizing

You see that the world isn’t all cupcakes and rainbows

Every day you come closer and closer to the inevitable fate

You will grow up

You will get a job, drive, have kids

You'll be an adult soon

And maybe I don't want to grow up, Maybe i want to stay young

Amused by the small things

Having time to play with dolls and legos

Now i have time to work and sleep

Skipping meals becomes a regular deal

Not because I’m struggling to eat no

Just because I don't have time

Growing up means running out of time to enjoy life

And running out of reasons

Reasons to stay happy
