Adults

I used to look up to them like knights in shining armor

Much bigger and stronger with everything figured out

One day in the distant future I will surely be like them

But silently and slowly that day has come to fruition

And the reality is much unlike my vision

I don’t feel smarter or wiser, but rather more independent

All on my own with no one guiding but myself and my morals
