An Adventure

The day was vivid and I was alive

Fields of flowers with the absence of bugs

For once, nature was not the unknown

Dogs and cats were the best of friends

All the apples were perfectly green

Everything was right

Husbands did not bicker with their wives

True love was in the air

It must have been a movie

Waves avoided sandcastles

And the sand didn’t sink

Was this a real ocean?

But in the blink of an eye

My life turned upside down

The day was cloudy and I was barely alive

The fluorescent lights killed my flowers

And I… I was in the unknown

Scars and blood covered my face

My parents were nowhere near

As I gasped for air

Nurses smile while doctors gasped

        A sickly boy whispered

“Your adventure has only just begun”
